With experience in a wide range of legal work, Yvonne specialises in family law. Her main practice areas are separation, child care issues, relationship property, contracting out/prenuptial agreements, PPPR matters and Family Court appointed work. Along with her Honours degree in Law, Yvonne has a BSW and PG Dip Arts (Psychology) both from Massey University. She is also a LEADR Accredited Mediator and FDR Provider.

Yvonne has a practical and friendly approach to legal problems. A particular interest is dispute resolution away from the Courtroom and Child representation. Yvonne was placed on the Lawyer for Child Court list in 2011 and the Lawyer to Assist Court list in 2014.

Yvonne is Dutch-born and grew up in Levin and Palmerston North. Her early career was as a Care and Protection Social Worker in the Gisborne/Wairoa area and in the United Kingdom.

Yvonne graduated in Law from Waikato University in 2005, worked as a lawyer at Woodward Chrisp in Gisborne and became a Partner of this firm in 2011. For extended family reasons, she moved to the Manawatu in 2014, together with her husband and young daughter, and worked as a Senior Associate at the largest law firm in Palmerston North, Fitzherbert Rowe. Yvonne and her family moved to Hawkes Bay at the start of 2017.

When not at the office, Yvonne enjoys her own family and scattering of friends in different places, her self-imposed and varied exercise regime, and the cultural and social advantages of the Hawkes Bay life.
